Kind reminder to Tuff Riders: Point out crap laying on the road. Last night’s angle iron double puncture POS knocked both hands off my bars and am happy to have not hit the deck. Much like a month ago with the tree branch in the middle of the road.
Also remember, be smooooth when you pull off the front of the paceline. Surging works only when you are trying to beat down the Taliban.

Actually I surge when pulling off to create some space instead of possibly overlapping wheels with the next rider in line.
What about purging?
Additionally in regard to pointing S**T out, that way I won't end up with the huge pinch in my not-so-cheap rear rim.
BTW, never surge in a paceline, it creates gaps which is what you're trying NOT to do.
Purging comes from trying to close the surge gap.

If the next rider in line is doing it right surging in this situation is not necessary.
